Character Info

Character's Name: Shen Qingqiu (Shen Yuan).
Character's Canon: The Scum Villain's Self-Saving System.
Character's Age: Shen Yuan died in his mid-to-late twenties. He had been living in the novel world for little over five years. Mentally, that would make him in his early thirties. As for his physical body, it also looks in its early thirties.
Canon Point: One year after Luo Binghe was knocked into the Endless Abyss.
Background/History:

Shen Yuan was born with an unknown illness n modern China. He spent his days reading web-novels and engaging in discussions on forums about said web-novels. The last novel he read before his death was the “Proud Immortal Demon Way.” It was a novel that he paid money in order to have access to the new chapters and was long – listed to have well-over 500+ chapters. And he hated it!

Upon death, he was transmigrated not into the body of the protagonist but into the body of the protagonist's sworn enemy, Shen Qingqiu. The man was to be cut into a human stick (legs, arms, eyes, and tongue cut out)! However, he could not immediately change his situation. A system was brought with him and prevented him from acting OOC until he passed a beginning scenario. It also let him know that if he refused to complete tasks, that it would deduct “points.” When the “points” reached zero, he would be sent back to his original world.

Thankfully, he was able to get through the beginning scenario and was allowed to be as OOC as he liked. His mindset was that he was going to figuratively cling to the protagonist's (Luo Binghe) thighs with the hope that he will gain enough affection from the man to avoid death. The relationship between the original Shen Qingqiu and Luo Binghe was that as master and disciple. Shen Qingqiu was the Peak Lord of Qing Jing, which was a sect of Cang Qiong Mountain. The original saw the massive potential the protagonist had and so did everything to emotionally and physically abuse the young man in order to stifle it.

Now that Shen Yuan was in control, he did what he could to rectify that behavior. It ended with Luo Binghe becoming very fond of “Shen Qingqiu.” But there were scenarios that he could not avoid from the system. Such as, the young Luo Binghe fighting to the death against a demon – and having it be Shen Qingqiu that ordered him to fight. Shen Yuan made up for that order, however, by taking a blow meant for Luo Binghe and ending up suffering a poison known as “Without A Cure.”

The other order he was given was that he had to knock Luo Binghe down into the Endless Abyss. It was a key point in the original novel and it had to be “Shen Qingqiu” that did it. After a difficult confrontation with Luo Binghe, he did just that – and regretted having to do it. Some time after, he found out that the author of the novel had transmigrated into it, too! The two of them found a way to avoid death. With that set up, Shen Yuan need only wait five years, because in five years, Luo Binghe would return as a blackened protagonist from the Endless Abyss. (Or so he believes.)

Strengths:

Poker-face. Most everyone who knows Shen Qingqiu (hereby what Shen Yuan will be known as) would state the man always appears unflappable and elegant regardless of the situation. This doesn't mean that he doesn't occasionally give a soft smile, or that his eyes are not gentle, but rather that he has perfected the ability of hiding his true thoughts and emotions. Because Shen Qingqiu is actually a modern Chinese man who spent most of his time on forums, his actual thoughts and speech patterns are much less tasteful. But generally speaking, no one can tell what he's thinking or feeling. He is able to bluff those that have an obvious advantage and give strength to others in appearing in control during high pressure situations.

Soft-hearted. He would like to think of himself as someone who is just out to save his own skin and avoid the gruesome death that awaits him at the end of the novel, but he is hardly so callous or cold. While living on the mountain peak with all the disciples under the original Shen Qingqiu, he stopped viewing them as just mob-characters as he did when he was reading the story; he instead viewed them as people that he had to protect. When he sees someone suffering, he does what he can to alleviate said suffering. He gives himself a lot of reasons as to why he does this to make it out to be a selfish reason, but he simply is someone who is kind and asks for nothing in return for his kindness.

Clever. In the beginning, he was not allowed to act even a little "OOC" or else he would be docked points. But when he couldn't stand to watch the younger disciples bully and humiliate Luo Binghe, he found a way around the System's OOC-lockdown. Like offering Luo Binghe to ride in the carriage with him rather than having to walk the long road to town. The System wanted to dock him points for alleviating the pain Luo Binghe was in, but he argued against that – he was attempting to appear like a kind and benevolent master to another disciple; and so he could not be docked points. The System had to agree with IC for the original Shen Qingqiu that cared about how others perceived him.

But other than that, he read a lot of web-novels and fantasy stories back when he was Shen Yuan. He used all of the knowledge that he had of tropes and situations in order to figure out how to best play out the scenarios happening in order to have them end favorably. Like the way to save his own life. He recalled there was a special plant that the author had written about, which was used in the future by one of Luo Binghe's enemies. This doesn't mean that he is always the smartest, but he is ingenious with what he has available to him.

Weaknesses:

Internal screaming. While he looks and sounds very composed, he actually is constantly screaming on the inside. Shen Qingqiu is doing his best but ultimately he has rolling lines of cursing and ranting about the situation that he happens to find himself in. He keeps all of it on the inside, but he is hardly as put together as he attempts to have others believe that he is. Such as when he got poisoned with Without A Cure, to those observing him, he handled it with poise and ease. The reality was that he was screaming loudly at his own stupidity the entire time he was watching his hand react to the poison! The man is something like a disaster if a person could read his thoughts. Indeed, while he works hard to come off as a certain way, the truth is he's nothing of the sort! (His less than elegant self comes out from time-to-time, like when he thinks the best way to hide his face is gluing fake hair on it to make a beard.)

Meddler. Because of that kind heart of his, he cannot help but get himself involved in matters that don't need him to be involved in. He gives a lot of reasons as to why he is helping -- stating it to be selfish in nature, or that he has absolutely no choice in the matter -- but ultimately he is meddling. It's good-natured and from a place of a good heart, but it's no less a weakness of his. During the years that Luo Binghe was in the Endless Abyss, Shen Qingqiu stated that because there was no television or Internet that he got himself involved in traveling and "sight-seeing." But what he was actually doing was handling requests that the common people would give him. Matters that involved dealing with demonic presences, vengeful spirits and the like. He just can't stop himself from getting involved with other people's problems.

Oblivious. For as good as Shen Qingqiu is at reading the situation, he isn't always the best when it comes to reading people. Especially people that have romantic feelings towards him. Like, Liu Qingge comes to fall deeply in love with him but his feelings are completely misunderstood by Shen Qingqiu. It happened that the two of them had come across a succubus who decided to read the love fortune of Shen Qingqiu -- to find out who his future destined was. The description of the individual was someone that Liu Qingge believed to be himself and became upset when the succubus dismissed the idea that Liu Qingge was the one talked about! Shen Qingqiu merely watched the entire matter unfold completely baffled as to what everyone was fighting about and why! When it comes to matters of the heart, he is still a virgin both in the way of recognizing romance and seeing those warm feelings sent his way from others.

Powers/Abilities:

Immortal cultivator. He was transmigrated into a Peak Lord's body – one that had unlocked immortality. What immortality means is they keep their youthful appearance and need not have to worry about eating. They can die from sustaining too many wounds, but other than that, they won't die from natural means. Not only that but he gained the original Shen Qingqiu's abilities as a cultivator.
► Ability to fly on a sword.
► Ability to sense evil and high spiritual energy.
► Enhanced reflexes, speed, strength. The ability to wall jump and run across buildings (like parkour but more Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon fly-jumping).
► Enhanced senses: hearing, sight, smell, etc. It allows a cultivator to be able to catch even the whispered conversations of others.
► Telepathic communication or the ability to cause his voice to carry by using his inner core (inner source of his energy) to extend the range of his voice.
► Can create talismans of high quality and high quality spells with them.
► Well-trained in the martial arts and sword-fighting. Also, he can summon his sword out from its sheath with a hand gesture and “psychically” control it. His skills have been shown enough that he can defeat an elder demon.
► Speaking of sword-skills, he can pour his aura into his sword to have the blade emit a snow-white clear light. This demonstrates that his abilities as a culitvator are high to those that would challenge him to a fight, but also, that aura can be unleashed in an attack beam. He used this once and the ground looked like it had been ravaged by lightning.
► Channel his own energy. He sometimes uses this for palm strikes. These are strong enough to rupture organs in the body if they happen to hit right. But it is also used in his fan to channel a force of wind through it. Sometimes, he infuses his energy into leaves of plants and sends them out like a Grass Pokemon razor-leaf attack.
► Ability to regulate the energy or adjust the energy flow of others. Essentially, the way that this is used is that he uses his own circulating “life-force” to bring it into another person's body which eases turbulent energies (like they have gone insane with anger, for example) within them or can increase their own healing capabilities. He does, however, have to be careful about doing this. If a cultivator forces themselves to go too far, they can self-destruct. Not physically but the energies inside of them can sudden erupt and damage all internal organs; death comes quite quickly after.

Other Noteworthy Traits:
► Plays the guqin fairly well. But that's because the Peak that he is the Peak Lord specializes in the four fundamental accomplishments for a Chinese scholar to have -- ability to play the guqin (or qin), play qi (chess), write calligraphy, compose poetry and paint.
► Insane knowledge when it comes to web-novels and fantasy creatures.
► Incredible memory. He's able to remember not only key points and characters but off-handed remarks of a five-hundred chapter novel, for example. Like he has the entire monster bestiary of The Proud Immortal Demon Way memorized!
► Good at meditation, but whenever he meditates, something comes to interrupt him.

► Poisoned with “Without A Cure.” So while all of his abilities as a cultivator sounds amazing, the poison gets in the way of it. What it does is that it interrupts the spiritual flow within his body. The blood will stagnate and he will die. But there have been measures put in place to avoid death. There is medication that he has on hand that manages the poison; he forcibly pushes his own spiritual energy through his body to keep it from becoming interrupted for long. And there has to be a person to offer to give their own energy to his body to help clear out his spiritual veins (meridians). At odd intervals, his body will still fail and he has to rest. There is no telling when this will happen, however. In short, this greatly limits his abilities because he never knows when it will strike.
► Terrified of heights, but still flies on his sword out of the "Rule of Cool." It's cool and if he doesn't do it, what's the point of being a culitvator?!

► The System. It is what he has been saddled with as soon as he transmigrated. Essentially, it tallies up all the points that have been gathered and is activated only when the protagonist, Luo Binghe, is in "action." Meaning, since Luo Binghe is in the Endless Abyss, the System is in dormant mode. If Shen Qingqiu does not complete the tasks given to it, he will be punished. One of those punishments is that all his points will be depleted to zero and he will be transported back to his original world where he is dead. The goal is to create a "good" novel. This is really mentioned in case Luo Binghe shows up as the System will restart at that moment.

Weapons & Other Special Inventory: A fan. It should be noted that it can act as a weapon, too. Qiankun sleeve, which is like a pocket dimension in the sleeve of a cultivator's outfit so they can store whatever they like.

Color: Light blue, as that is the color of robes that he occasionally dons and the aura that he gives off -- ice-cold, noble cultivator.

Sample: Random Scenario Meme.

[ OPTIONAL ] World Aspect: Bamboo forests. Essentially, it is a space that not only feels peaceful but is peaceful. The energy of the area is one that is calm and helps to unburden the minds of others that happen to wander into it.
